Cone-head helmet not a bonehead idea

Visiting fatal accident scenes involving motorcycles and bicycles helped a Brisbane physicist develop a revolutionary helmet that has the potential to reduce brain injury or death.

The invention, known as Cone-Head, took out the Invention of the Year award last night on ABC TV’s The New Inventors.

Don Morgan, from Yeronga, said he was “greatly honoured” to win the top prize for an invention he has been working on since the mid-1980s.

Todays Commute

Todays commute was a pleasure and a pain all in one, great weather and tail wind in one hand, but lots of issues with hgv’s and cars.  For some reason everyone was giving me zero room today and I’ll be honest I felt scared on many occasions.Managed to snap a few pics as well today which was nice.

Helmet laws an obstacle to free bike plan

TRANSPORT Minister Lynne Kosky is in discussions with Roads Minister Tim Pallas about a free bicycle program in Melbourne’s city centre.

Ms Kosky viewed the system in Paris and Lyon, where outdoor advertising giant JCDecaux supplies bicycles in exchange for control of billboards.
